The Ruby Mountains are located outside of Elko Nevada. They say they’re named for garnets found by soldiers in the 1800’s. I’d like to think they were named for the way they light up when the conditions are right. Unless you’ve actually seen this, it’s hard to believe. This is one of my favorite places to shoot. It's nice that it's only 20 minutes from home.
